RJUG Executive Committee Meeting Minutes

Minutes from March meeting reviewed and accepted.


April Meeting:
After realizing that no one had booked speakers, it was proposed that we:

• Get a vendor: Steve called and since the meeting confirmed Gemstone
• Hold a JavaOne discussion panel
• Dmitri volunteered to tailor a talk on XML for the RJUG
• Bill volunteered to supply filler Java “appetizers”

Elections:
Board discussed issues with RJUG elections for 4 positions. Defined members as those who are on mailing list who also attended at least one meeting. Adopted nomination and election procedures described in the “Call for Nominations” prepared by Bill. Elections will be announced at April meeting, will be held by e-mail and at May meeting. Bill to distribute Call for Nominations, collect nominations, prepare & distribute ballot, and tally votes.

May Meeting:
Penciled in Erik Smith from JavaSoft as vendor - Bill to confirm.
Brent and Mark to give talk.
Meeting to start at 6:30 at RIT.

June Meeting:
Steve to get room at ITEC Computer Show, June 17 or 18. We still need vendor, Mark should try to get WebLogic. Tom is penciled in for a talk, Dmitri should confirm.
